American Made at Cassel Gallery

This Saturday at the Cassel Gallery, Goorin Brothers presents American Made. They just released their new line of American made hats and what better way to celebrate than an art show! If you are in the San Francisco area, be sure to check it out.

Above are the pieces I did for the show. The colorful ones are a set of 5"x5" wood panels titled "Signs of the Times". To accompany that is a black and white painting of our presidents of the past and present! It's 16x16 gouache on wood. Gotta love that Van Buren!

Goorin Bros. proudly presents the closing reception for American Made. Gallery art exhibition and musical event featuring: Prarie Prince, Richard Colman, Reyes, Steel, Amanda Lynn, Chez, Andy Stattmiller, Jurne, Luke Stewart, Lucien Shapiro, Margaretta, & Magdalena Gross.

Seek and Find! My solo show at WIX Loung SF!

This show is going to be nuts! It's called Seek and Find because it's an interactive art show. The viewer participates in seeking and finding things in the pieces. Whoever finds all of the items on the sheet will be awarded a great prize (to be determined). There will also be live screen printing from the fine folks at Lords of Print. And providing the jams are The Cocktail Monkeys and Dj Mojo. Oh and also, there's live art too. So come on out for all the festivities! Hope to see ya there!

Back Door! A MUNI bus show. Opening Night.

Thanks to everyone who came out to check out the opening of Back Door at Fabric8! There was lots of good food and good people to make for a memorable evening. I painted 27 pieces for the show, over the course of six months. Being car-less here in San Francisco has forced me to ride the bus. MUNI is one of the best places to people watch, and you just never know what you're about to get into when you set foot on one. So to use the bus as an environment for a painting, well, there is just endless amounts of material there to work with. I'm already thinking of ideas that I should have done (I'll just paint some more later).

Click here to see all the pieces from the show!

Delicious

Delicious, an annual show of work inspired by food and drink, is like a visual Thanksgiving: it's literally a feast for the eyes. This year's show is our seventh, and we're proud to include work from over 90 local artists. There's something for every appetite: still lifes straight from the farmer's "Cherry Composition," Brandon Smithmarket, landscapes of vineyards and farms, scenes of local eateries and bars. This year's show is equal parts comfort food--cupcakes, donuts, tv dinners and cocktails--and fresh produce, reflecting the eternal battle of the food pyramid.

Opening Sunday, March 20 · 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Show runs until April 10th

Studio Gallery
1815 Polk Street (between Washington and Jackson)
San Francisco, CA 94109

Gallery hours: Wed-Fri 11-8, Sat-Sun 11-6, Mon-Tue by appt.

Local Flavor Opening at Fabric 8

Fruit Tart Safari. 36"x36", acrylic on panel.

Bodacious Banana Split. 24"x36", acrylic on panel.

The Local Flavor opening was a great success! There were all kinds of different food carts there serving up their specialties. I had the amazing pulled pork sandwich and the delicious personal pizza strait out of the stone oven. There was a visual overload in the gallery, with paintings all by locals, with food as the theme! It was a food time, I mean good time.

The show is running until November 1st at Fabric 8 Gallery at 22nd and Valencia in SF. Check it out.
